Thank you both - I'm also incredibly fortunate to own a 1966 Lotus Cortina...
Plan is to use the Orion to go to shows with family as the Lotus Cortina is an ex rally car with just two seats...

They are definitely going up in value, I managed to pick up a 1 owner from new Orion L with 54k on the clock for extremely good money about 1.5/2 years ago and the week after, their value just seemed to have sky rocketed since! Even the base model like mine is shooting up in price which is great! Saying that, mine is now full Ghia spec with electric windows, electric side mirrors, central locking, trip computer even put in an electric sunroof!
Mine is more of a project car though - zetec turbo etc etc and like yourself, definitely didnt buy to sell!
Would love to see more pictures of your cars!

Lovely example you have there, and a Lotus Cortina as well?? Great collection!
Your Orion looks identical to my 2nd car, G72 TSN. Was bog standard and mint but wasn't long till it was lowered on 15" 5 spokes with a big exhaust ha!
I think these will slowly creep in value, but not to that of the RS models. Bet that one drives like new!

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
Great example! After red the white ones look good.
All affordable classics are appreciating, things that were Ł500 smokers 10 years ago are obviously becoming less common sights. Personally I think they have an upper ceiling and prices will plateau in a few years but I'd love a red 90 spec.
Thing with these I'd guess is that being less desirable against the escort they tend to have avoided being abused so much and those holy grail low mileage, one owner cars crop up still.
That plate must carry some value too.

PassionFord Post Whore!!
Looks lovely... Good examples of any 80's cars have all gone up in value over the last few years, will only increase in value now...
Looks perfect, I'd still have to lower it slightly

That's a lovely Onion you've got there! Many years ago I had a blue "F" reg 1.6 L then a black "G" reg 1.6i Ghia and now I have a burgundy "M" reg 1.6 Zetec Escort saloon, so I'm a big fan!!
But your Lotus Tina is a beauty and is one of my dream cars!!!

That's stunning well done for finding that. Had loads of orions back in the 90s and early 00s mark 1 and 2s. I wouldn't be able to stop myself lowering it about 30mm lol. I lowered a white 16i ghia 60mm and went over a massive lump in the road and didn't drive right, put the front end of 2 legs of a 2 poster ramp being lazy just to change the front tyres and it bent in half it was so rotten 😭

Epic pair of old fords
I'd say the onion (what we used to call them) is already a classic, especially in that condition with low miles.
