The story goes..... me and the mrs wanted rid of her focus and we wanted a car with a bigger boot. Ive always liked the ST220s but they were a bit out of my budget. So the next best thing is a 2.5 V6 zetec s.
We went to milton keyenes to pick this one up a few weeks back. After i drove it i said to the mrs i love it and im gonna keep it and sell the ST.
Heres some pics. The first day we got it home.
Gave it a good cleaning session.
Clay bared the car. This was the panel that i started on,the osf wing.
I really love the car its so quiet and and smooth to drive. The ST17O was defo the quicker car. I wish i got a mondeo ages ago now lol.

Its got a decent spec too.
Heated half leather seats
Climate control
Cruise control
Elecy windows all round
Lights where the interior door handles are
Xenon headlights (has had angel eyes fitted)
6 speed gearbox
Ive bought a pair of complete doors from a titanium mondeo cause they came with folding door mirrors and they also have the puddle lights in the mirrors.
Im sure these doors also have the uprated sony door speakers too.
I also wanna put a interior light in for the passengers in the rear.

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
Not on a 2003, I think it will be the same as my 2.0 ? Around £280
I see st220's are dropping in price. I would love one with the red leather. I may skip the st170 and go for the 220 instead. Less rust
And the boot is great, I came back from Holliday two weeks back with an st170 engine and Holliday gear in the boot....

The cheapeat decent looking ST220 i could find was about 3k. Tbh i like the front bumper on the zetec s better than the ST mondys.

Nice one, how many miles has it done? This might not have felt as quick as the st170 as these are just so quiet and effortless to drive at higher speeds,

Nice car, but there are cheap STS on Facebook if you want to look at a later date
As for the folding mirrors, you need the complete door loom, the relay stuff in the fuse box under the glove box etc
Plus you need to run the extra wires for the light
And then you may also be able the change the wing mirror covers if they are compatabile but remember there are at least 3 different types
Mods are limitless on the Mondeo, but just make sure the engine oil is topped up and checked regularly as they have a habit of suddenly going pop if it's not checked
Real nice car

Had to be good for you to go all the way to Milton Keynes.
Nice Mondeo but I'm most jealous of your big garage. A house and garage like that around my way would be over £1m if it's in the right street with access to trains etc.

Dojj i bought a pair of complete doors of a titanium so they have the wiring. I thoughtif you had the looms the wing mirrors and the relay it would all work including the puddle lights. Ive also seen if you wire an extra relay in you can get the door mirrors to fold in when the car is locked and unlocked.

Yeh we are picking it up on monday. Its a mk2 facelift.
I took the cossie today. Its never moved in over 2 months. I put the battery lead back on and she just fired up first time. I had a play with a seat leon cupra on my way home from work. I had a slight misfire and i was still pulling away from it. Luckly the misfire cleared up. I still live the old girl.

Blue and brown
If these are there they the door looms are plug and play
They you have to see if you have 8 pin or 10 pin plugs for the mirrors
Over all its very fiddly rather than complicated to run the wires, due to the very limited space where you need to access, but it's easy enough to do

The wife's mk1.5 focus was the same. It didnt cost us much at all. It had 150k on it when we sold it.
The mk2 we are getting is only a 1.6 petrol zetec model so its nowt flash. We both like the the zetec s models

Nice change.
Different driving experience but back to back my ST170 felt livelier on the road against my ST24. You definitely had to work the focus a bit harder to achieve the same pace but the Mondeo felt easier to get up to speed, just the focus felt nervous on the road.
I'd have a decent cone filter on there it definitely wakes them up a bit.

I like MK3 Mondeos, they drive really nice. Always liked the Zetec-S, it's still a nice looking car.
I had an ST220 and loved it. Did 30k in it in a year (it started on 115k) and it never missed a beat, great cars. Sold it for £1200 but people seem to ask quite a lot for them.
