Default Sierra Cosworth 4x4 on snow

There are many who say I do not use the car, so I decided to skid a little in the snow.
Summer tires and snow = very slippery! Therefore, I do not dare to drive so fast.

Nice video! It looks like it behaves much the same as an RWD Sierra on the snow. I've never driven my 4x4 on the snow, so I have no experience on how it behaves.

Well yes, with original open diff in front and with not that much speed it behaves like a RWD in many situations. But if you look at 4:55 in the vid, you see wide angle and little more throttle, you can se the funny with 4x4

I am actually still wondering how the handling would change if you fit a LSD to the front. In my case it would be for dry tarmac handling and not snow though. I have the feeling with the open front diff it understeers on corner exit when you apply the throttle.

That's a cool vid too! Haven't you broken any diffs, driveshafts or gearboxes yet?

Understeer doesn't seem to be a problem there, but I guess with enough power it will light up all wheels anyway.

3 reardiffs, 1 frontdiff, 1 rear driveshaft, 1 gearbox and 2 mainshaft in gearbox, so yes Haha
I got a Oppliger Semu-Cut gearkit and Quaife rear diff, lovley upgrade! A Quaife front diff would be fun to test.

The rear Quaife diff is wonderful that is behaves like a RWD but the car itself behaves like a 4x4 when you got some speed.

All those movies are making me want to drive mine again. But still need to wait till the winter is over...

@Marco, when watching your video I also came across this one:

That's already doing quite well. I think at the time yours was about the same spec as mine is now. Did it reach the rev limiter in 5th, or was it limited by power? I would expect it to go a bit faster with 350 bhp.

I guess now with RWD and the T38 it's again much faster than this.

@ Marc It was limited at that time due too high charge temps as it had the standard IC and it was 30C outside, but i did another attempt later with a 500IC and cooler temps and reached the rev limiter in 5th doing 272 km/h on the GPS which surprised a E36 M3

272 km/hour, that's nice! I always wondered how fast a stage 3 cossie would go. With longer gearing it might have even gone a bit faster.

BTW, do you know what the rev limiter was set at? I believe mine is at 7200 rpm on the MSD chip. With 215/40 R17 tyres (don't know what you had) it should do 273 km/hr at the limiter in 5th. With the 5th gear from a MT75 diesel (0.76 ratio) it would be limited to 298 km/hr, assuming it would have enough power to pull that of course.
