That looks huge in comparison, just needs a blade on the bottom you could cut the lawn with it

Lol at above, it does chew up the lawn actually.

Here is the survivor with the brushless in, I am going to make the wires to the esc shorter. Nearly ready for testing.

I like the interior on the escort. Was that an option or just available on the earlier ones?

I ran mine for the first time on the drive today, it was wet and would not go in a straight line due to wheel spinning. It was great fun.

I dont know tbh, I know theres a company on ebay called kamtec that make and sell exact copies of the tamiya interior quite cheap.
I'm not surprised it wouldn't go in a straight line with all that lot you put in there lol

Looks good. I'm currently racing an Xray X12 LMP12 for 1/12 onroad and a Schumacher KF2 for 1/10 off road. KF2 is going to be replaced for a YZ-2 for this season.

Xray X12

Schumacher KF2

Kf2 currently holds the fastest 5 minutes run and fastest lap round our track, cracking car.

I sold my yz2 to get the xray. Absolutely fantastic car the yz2, still kinda wish I had it now.

I've only been back into it since Feb after a 2 year hiatus so not had chance to do any Astro yet. But TORCH Iis definitely high up on the list of places to visit, the place looks awesome

I'm pretty sure I've seen your name pop up on Oople a few times Nick.

Yes I do love my KF2 and it's done me well both at Maritime and Torch. I've now got my YZ-2 with loads of LMR stuff on it that just needs an Electric instal so my KF2 is effectively retired. Have only just started on LMP12 but it's awesome fun, a few of the Guys are running boosted 3.5T motors in Mod, mental...

You should definitely come down to TORCH at some point, it is a really good track and it's only 5 minutes away from me which is a blessing.

I have been looking at videos of the 1/5th scale petrol cars, I have a 1/6 marder as pictured above but the HPI Bajas look fun with 32cc engines and even better with the Kraken roll cage and body conversions. Some of the nutters have 50cc and 60cc twins in them.
It seems that people buy I them and spend up to Ł3000 on mods and then sell them for about Ł850. The Yanks are really in to them.

The bajas are good fun, I've got one in the garage at the mo, not touched it for about 4 years! I would recommend a 4wd though if you are bashing on loose ground. Maverick blackout with a few simple upgrades is supposed to be a good entry level truck, or I wouldn't mind a good 2nd hand fg marder.

That is useful info, I have been looking at an upgraded losi dbxl, it appeals as it is 4wd for the loose stuff as opposed to 2wd on the Baja. My marder is pretty good on the loose as the diff doesn't seem fully open due to thick oil so both wheels grip well.
I like the FG leopard as that is 4wd but I do think the hpi brand is better, more like a Tamiya build.

I think the losi dbxl is not as robust.

Just got this one, it is 1/5 scale and will have a Kraken body conversion this week, it has not been run yet (brand new everything)but is very modified and has about 7 hp 32 cc engine. The builder put over Ł1500 in to extras on it. I picked up another one which is 29cc and race prepped with over Ł2k worth of mods and I paid a really keen price for the pair as the eBay auctions ended and I went to see him face to face and waved some notes under his nose...I got a Range Rover boot full of spares including engines etc.

I have a rooky admission now.....I put in some fair but cheeky bids on ebay...trouble is I won all the auctions. I now have 3 Baja HPI's (the owners spent over Ł8500 on these) and 2 repsol Escorts all in the space of 10 days...oops. The wife has some funny looks on her face as I bring in all this stuff. I am going to have to tidy my workshop this weekend to house it all. I also ended up with about Ł1000 worth of spares.

She is pretty used to it, I bought a house once when she was out shopping.

I am sure I drive her mad but she puts up with my silly obsessions as I have always been like it.

Hey guys can some of you help me? After seeing all the cool stuff on here I wanted one for my self i bought this nitro 1:10 tamiya today for 50 euros as it don't run. So I got it home and the engine was full of the gooie oily crap with i cleaned out, then I checked the plug and that is fine. Then I cleaned out the hose to the carb and the one from the pipe to the tank. Then put fuel in and primed it and it would start but then stop straight away. And again and again. Then I noticed a hole in the side of the fuel tank. My question is, is the pipe from the exhaust to the tank to put pressure to then put fuel to the carb? And if it is is the fact there is a hole in the tank what causing it not to run for long???

There should be a pipe from the exhaust to the tank then a pipe from the tank to the carb. If there are any more holes and the tank does not seal it will not run. Find a manual for the engine and put the carb back to Base settings and go from there.

You can seal up the old one, just plug or glue up the hole.

Thats gone off fuel which has been left in there, your supposed to remove all the fuel and get some after run oil in the engine before storing away as the fuel blocks it all up. Even if you spray a bit of wd40 in the carb and pull the pull start a few times to circulate it around after use.

Yeah I cleand the tank out with WD. Then blow the crap out the pipes . Cleaned the carb through with WD too to. Also took the head off and cleand the inside of the engine.
