Default Cortina 2.0s

I recently heard about a genuine 1 owner 14k mile mk4 Cortina 2.0s that has been sitting in a heated garage for 21 years!!!! Got the old gents details and to cut a long story short i now find myself being the new and second owner of this very rare car.

Pics were taken on 22/4/14 and its the first time its seen daylight in 21 years. its away to the paintshop to get a couple of marks addressed and then a good service, drain the old fuel out the tank, Mot it and enjoy it. oh and fit another set of wheels as these wheels (option when new) still have the original tyres fitted.

The very rare Cadiz interior is unmarked

They are lying in the footwell, the old guy didn't want to damage them when he was walking past the car when it was laid up in the garage

That is awesome! Incredible what is stored away hidden in garages. Mate of mine has a red mk4 2.0s, complete but in need of restoration very rare car these days.

It should have had steel sports wheels as standard but the Ghia alloys were an option and are included in the original bill of sale,

The spare has never been out the boot

Cracking find. My mate has just done similar with a 1989 Jaguar XJS 5.3 V12 with only 18000 miles on her. Well jealous.

There is a small scratch on os wing, small bit under os headlight and i think i will get front/rear valences done. It doesn't really need it to be honest, i just want it as it was when it drove out the showroom in 1977. It should be on the road around the 5th May,its been checked over for an mot and doesnt even need a brake pipe or a Void bush!!!

Well after a couple of months tinkering and getting a few bits of paintwork done, it is now Mot'd/taxed for the first time in 22 years and is now on the road. All thats left to do is give it a good detailing and giving the interior a scrub.
