I did drive both and the E36 feels more raw. I think if I was going to use it all year round I would of got a E46 but this thing will be tucked away and pampered

Cheers all. It is rare.
Glenn,
these are the last of the E36. 1 of 50 made and only 30 or so left. Essentially it is a M3 Evo with some bespoke extras like
Imola Red Paint
Electric seats
Red leather and Alcanter seats
Harmon Kardon Hifi
side air bags
GT front splitters
GT rear spoiler
If any E36 is going to be worth something, the GT models should be the ones...I hope

PassionFord Post Whore!!
Not wanting to be a cunt but it's not officially a GT2 BMW called them a BMW M3 EVO Individual.
They only came in imola red, with the front splitter and rear spoiler as std and with the red/black interior.
It was the owners that gave them the GT2 name.
Mine is a BMW M3 GT Individual.
It has the same adjustable splitter and spoiler, only came in British racing green, green/black interior.
But mine also had different cams, throttle body trumpets, higher compression and twin oil pick up it also has a different diff ratio, aluminium doors, front strut brace and under body brace, shorter/stiffer front springs I forget what else.
It was built for the homologation rules to race in a series.
But they were both a run of only 50 and as rare/desirable as each other.

Either way it looks nice and im sure it can only appreciate in value

After yesterday my right hand was practically useless!
I had to go back to the car to move it over in the garage and decided to make a small start on the engine bay.
This is what it started off like

While I was cleaning this part, I noticed the bolts with the washers on was not very tight? I gave them a tweak up
http://www.flickr.com/photos/28696483@N07/11908008004/, on Flickr
I am guessing this is just a cover of some sorts?
I also managed to break this
http://www.flickr.com/photos/28696483@N07/11908072844/, on Flickr
I am guessing this is the pump for the washer jets? anyone got a working one they do not need? Mine has broken when trying to remove the water pipe
http://www.flickr.com/photos/28696483@N07/11908072844/, on Flickr
I took the coil cover off to try clean it up and found 6 BMW coils which was nice
http://www.flickr.com/photos/28696483@N07/11907972984/, on Flickr
This one also shows the top of the engine and the mess it is in.
This is the coil cover after a bit of a clean and put back on, also scrubbed the black crackle paint near this cover to see if it would come off, came off the engine part but not the removable coil cover, will need to get this sprayed
http://www.flickr.com/photos/28696483@N07/11906899513/, on Flickr
That is all I managed today, need to let my hands recover now. Did not manage to clean the arches out but I can do that in the garage.
Thanks for reading

Cheers mate.
I will keep this updated I guess as we are all petrol heads
OK so started on the other side of the engine bay today
Removed some parts and started with this
http://www.flickr.com/photos/28696483@N07/12031537374/, on Flickr
Ended up looking like this
http://www.flickr.com/photos/28696483@N07/12031256094/, on Flickr
My bonnet sound proof was filthy so had a stiff blush and went over it, not amazing but certainly better and lots of crap came out of it too
Before
http://www.flickr.com/photos/28696483@N07/12031455264/, on Flickr
After
http://www.flickr.com/photos/28696483@N07/12031906026/, on Flickr
Next up I removed a few bits
http://www.flickr.com/photos/28696483@N07/12030815495/, on Flickr
Was the standard kind of grime
Before

After
http://www.flickr.com/photos/28696483@N07/12031159614/, on Flickr
I cleaned up everything before putting it all back together
Ended up looking like this

http://www.flickr.com/photos/28696483@N07/12030695855/, on Flickr

I have not replaced the screws as they have been painted, waiting for them to dry before fitting, if they look pants I will go buy all new.
List of parts I am replacing
Front fog lights
Side rear window seals (bottom) both sides
Steering wheel either new or leather sorted
Might get the drivers side bolster reconditioned but its in pretty decent shape already so not urgent
New washer fluid pump as I broke that one
New clips for the side kit (one is broken but will replace all as they are cheap)
Coil cover repainted, spoken to my paint guy who is sorting this.
Scratch on the passage side which will need paint
Future jobs:
Clean the arches out
Clean the back of the wheels
Clean and degrees the actual engine
Inspection 2 service
Possibly take the front splitter off and the GT side splitter parts and re-paint. Is this satin black?

Very nice these and I do think that E36 M3 values in general will be going up in the next few years especially standard well looked after examples and limited edition runs like the GT. I also think that given some more years the E46 M3 CSL will also be a car worth some serious money.
If I had a nice garage that I could shove a motor in and let it sit for 10 years then it would probably be one of these. They are relatively affordable right now, spend a bit more money for a low mileage looked after example and I'm sure its value will only increase.

Looks 10x better! Surprising how much difference it makes when you clean the hard to get to without taking bits off, areas!
