I've not thought about it mate. Lol.
To be honest I've kinda decided that this summer will be the last one before this frame gets retired. But hope it doesn't get too chipped!

Went to Aberystwyth yesterday and competed in the Conquer the Cliff downhill event.
Was a good starter event for anyone interested in trying downhill. Hardtail bikes could do it aswell as full on DH rigs.
We paid £35 + £5 refundable cost for the race number, and had free tram lifts to the top. Uplift took 5 mins on the tram but rode up once and took 15mins.
Course was set up down the walk path with a 4ft drop off or chicken run, then to a gravel path with 2 step sections and 2 wooden bridges. They put carpet on one bridge due to the steps happening straight after.
Never rode an event like this and can see why people get the buzz from these with all the shouting, bells ringing and the music. Weather was pish but didn't dampen our feelings on the day.
Come 6th in class with a time of 1.35ish, first in Elite was 1.19.
The group I ride with (5 of us entered) I come 2nd so decided to do a victory beach jump. Went a little wrong....

Looking for a little bit of help really please lads. Used to always be on a bike as a kid and its something i'd love to get back into. Keep on looking in here and some of the rigs u's have got amaze me, and not looking for anything like that but something to get started on that isn't gonna break the bank, but will hold up well... about £1100 - £1500 mark.
I'm only a 20 min drive from Cannock Chase but i'm not looking for anything completely DH focused but that would deal with some trails, XC etc...
I find myself in the Specialized shop at the Fort Dunlop a lot looking at their previous years models and their 0% finance deal is also good( but i think that has me looking at bikes i really don't need )
Any help you could give would be appreciated and just to help, the bike won't be a garage queen due to it being a help with fitness for my MX.
Thanks in advance Matt

As an alternative look at a hardtail new for your budget with a good spec then build it up onto a full banger in the future.
I've just got my first full banger. I get a deal through work as we run a hire centre at one of our sites, I paid less than 1k for 160mm travel, fox 34 ctd, fox ctd rear, xt clutch rear mech, deore 203 and 180 discs, nobby nics, race face bb and cranks. Will be hitting cannock shortly!

For that budget you'll need to look to a 2nd hand full banger. 650b is the current trend. You'll need a nice AM bike with slack geometry for descents but capable of a bit of climbing. It wont be the lightest but will be rewarding going down. Something like a Commencal or Nukeproof and fit a dropper post.

I dont work there its one of our other sites. I get the staff discount, the brand do mental deals to have the staff on their kit.
We don't sell many as its not our primary business, its attached to a cafe. We sell off the hire fleet but otherwise we don't have any 2nd hand stuff through. The hire fleet is all £350-500 retail stuff.

good looking bikes guys, it rained for 2 days and was very muddy, but will still rode the shit out of the place, then it baked hard and the braking bumps killed us, arm pump galore,
got a ten birth chalet for next year if anyone want to joint us.

I went out to morzine with boost mad, ended up riding his zesty for the week we were there!
It was my first time out of the uk and doing any proper dh stuff but I loved it! had an epic time even in all the mud!
Nevs - what dates are you looking to go next year?
