My Polo GTi

Had this a couple of months now so thought i'd start a thread... when i bought the car i got told it had a new gearbox fitted, just needed bodywork sorting bleh bleh bleh.... basically a load of shit, diff bearings collapsed after 3 weeks, clutch was fubared when the box came out, cambelt was about to snap, alternator belt was basicaly in 2 halves, wrong front bumper and splitter, and just generally been dogged by the previous owner a supposed "audi technican" haha my arse, will let pics tell the story.. when i got it, badly painted black bonnet, bra hiding dents on the bonnet, gash ride height, n/s/f xenon no working, wheels corroded to high hell, headunit wired directly to the battery live and earth, generally in shit order with free of charge GASH audi running lights :thumbs: the start.... i then got it home, re-con gearbox with fresh diff and uprated bolts for the diff as there know for having rivets in standard, New cluth kit and release bearing, Rewired the stereo into a new ISO connector as opposed to diggishly wired to the battery. Genuine cambelt and tensioner kit fitted, waterpump, coolant temp sensor replaced, new cam sensor and repaired some cam sensor wiring where it was broken. car given a general mint up, and some JOM coilovers fitted, replaced the D2S xenon bulbs from the factory ones for 5k ones as one was fubared, Heko wind deflectors fitted too. Added a genuine GTi splitter too and painted the front badge black Some more general cleaning, down and out sticker added and wheels buftied more. Then chucked the bra back on to visit oulton park for a bit of a change and also painted the inside of the wheels graphite grey and lowered the rear a tad more so it sits more "dub" but not too unsociable Recently had the bonnet painted, fitted an AVX33 headunit, speaker adaptors have turned up too, and some eibach camber bolts for the front, Got some 7 and 8 inch Porsche D90's ion my garage too with 8 hub adaptors lol but undecided whether to fit them of sell and get some pro race 3's

Very nice car mate, you dont see many mk5 Polo GTI's.
Theres a guy across the street from me has one exactly the same only its a 4 door, takes it to all the gti club meets etc and I think its the only mk5 polo gti ive seen on the road.

D90's are the best rims for a polo here was my old one



Cool little car but cost me more than my cossie to maintain! sold it before i got the chance to have the rear arches rolled and wind the coilovers right down.

they are pretty dear maintenance wise for such a small car, being deadly honest i drive the living hell out of it every set of twisties i get on and it hasnt been bad so far like.

and regarding the clubs i've found there the most unhelpful bastards on gods earth unless your sending the car to a well know vee dub tuner and spending telephone numbers with them.

they are quirky cars though i enjoy it but am looking for a derv soonish

yeah the original pedal boxes didnt have enough spot welds on them, bit of a bitch to do.

D90's are in hi build ready for a bit more prep and some paint

might even chuck em on as was gonna sell them. seriously clean set of wheels though no kerbs or bends nice and original so thinking they might just set it off a bit. nothing mad just some Ford Graphite grey am thinking

Used to have a 6n2 polo GTI fun little cars but the gearboxes are poor. luckily VW fixed my pedal box under warranty.

Am on club polo mate but find if your not going to run it ridiculous height and silly silly rims or flourescent everywhere or a set or BBS Rs's your not in the click lol
