I have a lovely Ford Escort Sapphire but some say such a car does
not exist! Anyone have any info or history about this lovely car?

1600 injection, 16V, DOHC

I've have actually seen a few about so they do exist, and thats in Birmingham!

yeah, they had the same spec as the mistral etc. Think its LX spec with some other bits too

There was a fiesta sapphire too...

its just a limited run of spec like the mondeo verona ect

Mondeo verona was base model, with no toys or very little.
Neighbour has one of these sapphire escorts in metallic purply colour.

There was an Escort and Fiesta Sapphire, but the Sapphire was only a 'special trim edition' like the Sierra Azura or Chasseur, etc.

Sapphire was just a limited run special edition, as said above they also did a Fiesta version. IIRC they had power steering, sunroofs, colour coded bumpers and came in met blue or met red.

Veronas [SHOULD] have/had alloys and air conditioning.... I have 2 sat here, blue one sold about half an hour ago and the silver ones still for sale....
