Well after spending the last 6 months at looking for something practical, relatively cheap, reliable (ish) and looks pretty good I finally got this back in April. I know I'm a bit late at posting but never mind.

My search had narrowed down to Mondeo ST220's, Octavia VRS (Petrol). I would love a diesel but I probably do less than 4k miles per year and not worth a diesel. Eventually the St220 went out of the window due to reliablity concerns I've heard and also the tax if I remember was high. So ended up searching for months mainly on briskoda for a VRS. Anyway I looked at Accord Type R's months ago briefly but its hard to find one with less than 150k!

Low and behold this one popped up on briskoda in March with 85k on the clocks and sounded pretty promising. Had a good read up about them including a pistonheads 'hero' article last year : http://www.pistonheads.com/doc.asp?c=161&i=28132, viewed the car then bought it there and then.

The cars is by no stretch a minter but having 2 kids is probably best, £100 a year cheaper insurance than a ST or VRS, £230 per year tax (Due to being a facelift model, which I think also looks better), and the noise and performance you get at 5800 rpm is amazing. These also came with an LSD as standard, accompanied with a fantastic chassis i doubt an ST or VRS would keep up in the bends. Heres some pics:
