it only had a little 1.3 engine but it was built like a tank compared to most cars of its age and probably today and was ultra reliable and had minimal problems, only thing that killed it was rust in the rear arch



wat killed it off , the top strut of the rear suspension is the left of the hole

Looks nice mate! I've just got a hold of a mk1 campaign but I've yet to check fully for rust, hopefully it won't be too bad!
What did you end up doing with this?

Stripped off the suspension, wheels (went on my mk2 ibiza which I later sold) engine, exhaust, gearbox sold them and then scrapped the shell, in total it payed for my mk2 Ibiza which lasted a year which I also scrapped lol, the focus is only my 3rd car in 7 yrs. The price of a mk2 golf and no where put it puts me off buying another one
