Default any bmw MINI gurus in?

The gf has an '06 cooper (pre facelift) covered 58k

To me it seems like it has a throttle/ acceleration problem.

When you part throttle it doesn't seem to respond much until u put your foot down further making the accelration very on/off with not much inbetween..
Also makes it horrible to pull off from a standstill because you either take off or nearly stall it.

Sometimes if your trying to accelerate then back off the car seems to accelarate just as your lifting your foot back of the pedal

I havnt had it on any diagnostics but it also isn't showing any lights??

I'm thinking maybe maf or tps but with parts being expensive I'd like a second opinion!
Any ideas?
Cheers

They have a terrible throttle as standard.

A quick fix is a sprint booster or a remap to speed it all up.

i neutral floor it, if it revs right out to 5K im out of ideas bar the standard give a service and a good thrash. BUT if it only revs to 4K its in limp mode, mine (not a mini but similar engine) did this and the maf sensor had failed. It was in a limp home mode and was really really gutless.
