i see quite a few people in here have rs 2000 i also have one but my engine is on the way out i have been thinking about biting the bullet and buying a brand new stage 3 engine from specialised engines but have not heard of anyone else with this conversion really i am just trying to find out if this would be a good base if so bigger brakes and maybe even carbs or throttle bodies any advise is welcome

2.3 from a galaxy can be fitted with some work, i would suggest www.rs2000-16v.co.uk and speak to the lads running 2.3's on there, also the standard 2ltr I4 engine is not that tunable so dont expect to see any more than 200bhp and a drop in torque hence why the 2.3 is good

Did you take it appart and actually have a look at the standard it was made, the head I got from them had 2 angle valve seats as opposed to three. the valves looked like they had been lapped in by a 3 year old, it had'nt been ported at all!! It had cheap springs guides and retainers and the chambers were a right mess, I paid nearly £1k for it and on top of that they supplied a three layer steel head gasket that they said would be fine, which turned out to be about 6 thou thinner than a standard one which caused piston to head contact!!!!!!!!!!
