Mondeo 1997 1.8 td tuning
Hi... just a quick question... my uncle has a 97 mondeo diesel.... and its a flamin plug...
We know you can adjust the wastegate...but somone told us to maybe only do this half to 1 turn??? i know we will need to put another u bend at the intercooler as they burst with the boost... can someone fill us in with the turbo or any way to make it a bit quicker
Many thanks!!!!!!!!!!!

just a few links that be handy
there is a few mods out that can be done to up the power
a nice big cone filter with cold intake pipe
ss cat back exhaust system
front mounted intercooler (check out saab ones fit a treat on front panel of mondy and are huge to)
up the fuelling and boost
get a bleed valve
ported polished head
and then there is cam
also there is hybrid turbo's
dont touch act rod at all your more likely to blow it up if not done properly
std psi running 15psi can run up to 18psi

i did quite a bit of tuning on my old 1.8TD mondy, i done a tuning guide here which goes into detail on what tarmac terrosists has listed:
http://members.lycos.co.uk/plandesigns/tuning.htm
dont just turn up the boost without the fuelling or it will run lean and not really go any quicker.
the U-bend on the intercooler is fine at 18-19psi i drove mine for a long time like that, a mate of mine burst his at about 22psi.
i used a bleed valve because the wastegate adjuster is a bitch to get at, and the bleed valve (one of them dawes device thingys) worked fine.
