Capri Rear Suspension and Carb help
Hi, not been on in yonks but my best mate has asked me to post a question.
He has an '86 ish Capri that my old man is building him a new pinto for. Car's just been sprayed but there are questions over the back axle. The car has clearly been lowered at some point and the rumor at the shows is that the springs on the car are from a van of some sort.
Apparently the spring change was common in the 80's though we have no clue which springs they are. Can anyone shed any light on what the ride height should be, where we can get fresh springs from, which type we need and so on. Car was originally a 1600 pinto if that helps. Can get pictures at the weekend if needed.
Next question, the car was running a 1600 pinto as mentioned. We have the carb that came off the 1600 and its this random 32/36 webber thing. Can anyone shed any light on which carb the 2ltr capri's had and which jettings are needed? The 2ltr is completely standard save a decent exhaust. We understand it's likely to need rolling road sesh at some point. Been through wikipedia and so on looking for answers but been struggling for specifics. The car is a previous concourse winner so trying to stay away from twin '40's if poss.
Thanks in advance
Dave

You want single lead springs from a 2.8 Capri with some up rated shocks and an a frame as well and that's the back end buttoned up. Regards the carb 32/36 is standard 2.0ltr carb
