Default Fuel fittings

I am looking into the fuel system on my mk1 cosworth.

I will be running copper 8mm pipe under the car with braided at both ends. Opening up the outlet at bottom of the tank..
I think I am going to run a swirl pot in the system.

Is there anything available that can connect braided to the copper hard lines.
What does the -6 &-8 mean on the aeroquip fittings.

The -6 or -8 is the inside diameter of the tube in 16ths of an inch, so a -6 would be 3/8s", and the -8 would be 1/2"...

As for attaching braid to pipes, there are adapters and unions to do it...
