Nokia N96 16GB Mobile Phone. Unlocked.
This phone is my own personal phone and is only a few months old. I am selling purely due to the arrival of my long awaited N97
The phone is in excellent condition, with only a few very small marks on the outer edges of the case. The screen itself is AS NEW because I only took the protective cover off about 2 weeks ago. It comes boxed with all cables manuals and software.
Detailed item info:
http://www.nokia.co.uk/find-products...ones/nokia-n96
Pics of the actual phone:
This pic shows the marks on the edge.
This Pic shows my genuine reason for sale...
My price: £225 delivered with Special Delivery Next Working day.
(Or £5 more if you want it Saturday morning)

Yes mate. Can post today too.
I certainly would have thought so. You can use the Nokia phone swop tool which will bluetooth all info across IIRC. Thats how i converted from N95.
No guarantees of that though, Im no phone expert.
i'm seriously intrested stu, just wondering if i will be able to put my vodaphone chip into it and get all the bits and bobs working as they are with my 6300 i've got at the moment

Doh, forgot that was there. LOL
I literally organise my life using the phone, If im out and think of new ways to market something I just pop a reminder in my phone, if I need to be home for something special, as was this occasion, I do the same.
Excellent Phones.

unfortunatly, for me, it arrived at about 11 this morning when the old dear called to say "there is a box for you that's turned up" and i've had to wait until just now to get it out the box and have a go on it
i can see myself spending more time with this phone than anything else for the next few days reading the instructions and stuff as i'm a bit of a technophobe
thanks stu

How do you rate the n97 compared to the n96 stu? I have the n96 and personally don't think too much of it, too slow, video is no good and the internet connection is terrible. The slide also wobbles like mad so makes one heck of a noise when it vibrates! I'm thinking about changing it for either the n97 or the iphone, but don't know weather that would be a step forward or back!

I don't know, this is my 2nd n96 now, the first one was repaired 3 times before they gave me a new one, and this one is worse!
Really don't want to have to go through dealing with vodafone again, so I think i'll just put up with it and wait for my contract to expire!!

you need to download a program called NSS
http://www.b-phreaks.co.uk/index.php?main_page=page_2
and then follow one of the guides which shows how to change product code ( very easy)
get dojj to give you the product code from his handset (on a sticker under battery) as stus phone was a generic phone to start with
simply change code and then do a software update using the std nokia software
job done
or if your near coventry i can do it as a favour for ya

Install Nemesis Service Suite (NSS) and Nokia PC Suite. Connect your phone and ensure its connected to your PC via Nokia PC Suite mode (will show up on there). Close Nokia PC Suite. Fire up NSS.
In the top right corner, click "Scan device" and it should detect the phone.
Click the "Phone Info" tab then "Read".
In the box, it should show some phone info but most importantly, the Product Code. Change the Product Code from whatever it is to "0568238" for UK & Ireland (Non Branded) or "0543713" which is Euro1. Use any you want, but en-gb pwns and is it both
Tick the box next to the Product Code and click write. You should get a confirmation message.
Make a backup and run Nokia Software updater and let it find the latest unbranded firmware for you

Hi ranj, right I have done all that, and its worked, menus seem to be a little different, although I guess time will tell to see if it behaves itself.
The only thing that bothers me is that for some reason all applications that use java j2me don't work. This includes youtube, games and the email application.
They never have worked since I've had the phone. I can only presume my phone doesn't have the j2me installed? I've tried to install it, but I'm having no joy.
Any ideas?
Rich

Glad i'm not the only one! Doing the whole rebranding thing though didn't make any difference.
