em i can get a brand new from sky for £30. Buying the box from u still doesnt mean that the channels ill get are in HD, u need a subscription for it. Fair enough ur getting a bigger hard drive but u still wont be able to record unless sky turn on the recordable features

These boxes sell on Ebay for alot more than this. I'm guessing that if you wanted HD and you already have the box, you'll get a better deal from Sky? Or perhaps a replacement box if yours is fooked?
Either way, thats a pretty non-constructive reply IMO.

If you can get them from sky for £30 everyone would have them. Also you would be tied into a contract. I think sky have stopped doing the £50 offer also so i think they just offer sky plus for 3
I sold about 10 of these in the past few weeks on ebay for more than the asking price on here so alot of people still want them

I work for sky in the sales department, i sell HD boxes everyday if i dont sell them at £49 i sell them at £30. £49 is the going rate for a HD box for either new or exisiting customers. Yes fair enough getting one from sky ties u into a contract, but either way if u want the HD channels u r gonna have to subscribe to sky get them to activate the HD subscription (£9.75 per month)
I wasnt starting anythin was just pointin out a fact

all u do is fone up and and say u want sky HD (if u dont already have sky), uve seen the box for £30 and u want it. The minimum subscription is £16.50 plus the £9.75 but that gives u all the hd channels minus the sports and movies

he can register for an HD box will cost him £49 for the box, £30 for instal unless he gets his current box relocated for multiroom, he will then pay £9.75 for the hd subscription

you won't have to get ANOTHER HD subscription, just tell them you want to pair a card to a box as the box was fooked, just make sure that you get whatever ou want off the old box as once the cards are paired you can't watch what you originally had
other than that, it is just as simple as unplugging the sky+ box and pluging the HD box in it's place and sod the set up fee's that sky would charge you for getting a bloke out in a van to do
don't forget to come abck here and ask how to perform the on air instalation though, pressing buttons and stuff but cna't remember which sequence
and if you don't believe me, i boguth a card of someone here (i think it may have been westy? ) and pluged it in and was watching HD telly in freeview (but not full sky as i didn't have a matched card )
