Default Even More Airfix Modelling Stuff. New ones finished 20/03/15

Hi guys.
Decided to start making a RAF base type of thing for my Airfix model stuff in the loft. Only the planning stages at the moment i.e. got to measure up board etc etc and what sort of landscape. thinking along the lines of RAF Harrowbeer with the Spitfire protection hills sort of things and a one of thing for the Lancaster.http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=i&rct...75454815253115
But today I just bought the WWII RAF Bomber Re-supply set which was released about a week ago.

Also found and bought at a market another Spitfire and a JU 87 Stuka Dive Bomber all for £8 un-built. The Stuka is a very old airfix series one too.

Will upload pics of the planes later on today

If I am honest I need to work on my paint finishes a bit. Top of the wings on the Stuka are a bit botchy

aquick tip for any beginner. always wash the kit prior to assmbely to wash of any trace of the release agent. it will result in a better finish and more importantly alonger lasting finish. I haven't done any aircraft for years, I got into the Tamiya bike kits. im not brilliant but not bad, il post up some pics

Thanks mate. I use Revell cement squeeze tub thingy and maskers to hold things together whilst it sets for a few minutes. It has a very fine needle.

Nice models!

I notice none of the german models have the tail swastika any more, deleted due to pc gayness or just not fitted yet?? I do hate it when they try and delete symbols of the past - as much as the nazis were bad, you cant delete them out of history IMO.

They look really cool, tried doing a few airfix kits in the past but I really doi suck at it, had the D day set, managed to do the bunker alright and a couple of others but the rest were terrible.

Looking good!

You going to have a complete model airbase? with proper square concrete block runways and taxiways?

A bit of both I think.

I'll be ordering a kit from Acurate Armour and will be painting it a bit of both. Will need a small paint gun for some of it though.

Thanks guys.

I am tempted to make a bit of a runway once I have finished the rest of my kits. 6 to go I think.

I usually piant the insides of the planes and trucks etc first then glue them up and paint externally afterward. Some parts are easier to paint on the sprue's or sticking them to a lump of blutac.
