give it a go mate you may need a new core if it doesent stop as it was worn [not to bad]. i will change it for you for free[look on ebay for a core] if you can't stop it leaking

if it still smokes after a new core it could be an engine problem blow by

Hi mate, quick question have had the car set up properly and boost was running low about 0.3 bar. This has been attributed by the tuner to a soft actuator (which I never adjusted) Anyway having wound it in so that its working properly the engine is running well. However when flooring it I started getting oily smoke in through the cabin vents and could sometimes see it coming out the bonnet vent. Obviously there was an oil leak so I tightened the oil return hose and double checked the in line filter for my turbo oil feed. Neither improved anything and the leak got worse on the 2nd test run having noticed there was smoke exiting the exhaust on boost.
Having removed the turbo I think that the oil return pipe may not have been as tight as it should because I had to partly dismatle the turbo to fit it to the exhaust manifold. Now I have changed the gasket for the pipe and tightened it and every other bolt right up with some thread lock so hopefully will be ok.
Anyway just wondering if the oil out of the exhaust could be due to me not properly tightening the turbo nuts correctly in the first place and hence leaking oil past the seals, would you consider my diagnosis correct in theory? Hopefully I am correct about the return pipe too as I had only tightened it hand tight using a spanner but this time have used an extension bar which really tightened it. Fingers crossed!
