    hi tabs thanks forr reply

where do i check for fuel after fuel reg or before, seems that spark is a bit eratic.
have fitted a new group a coil with new earth lead from batt to fixing bolt of coil.
i fitted a new oil pump and and seals to aux pulley(hope this is nit problem)
when turning car over it sounds as it should, but once you stop turning it over it seems as if theres some back pressure through inlet manifold.
as if the timing was out but its all lined up checked a re checked
the connecter plug on tdc/speed sensor is a little f...... but when i checked ohms reading from ecu it gave the correct reading so the connection must be ok but im gonna cut of the old one and solder a new one tomorrow.
tomorows another day and we see what happens

    cheers mark

Make sure you have a fuel supply, ie crack off the pipe and turn over, next see if ther eis a nice fat spark.
Although it is possible to get the phase sensor out by 180 easy enough, so long as cams and crank lined up at tdc, and phase is also then should start.
What exactly is it doing when turning over ?, are you defo using the LUG nearest the "V" groove as the tdc mark, some mistakenly use the "V" groove, at this position with the cam pointers inwards towards each other and on the join between head and cover the scribe line on the dizzy body needs to be 100% in line with the centre of the rotor arm.
So long as it gets petrol and spark it should do something sometime.
