Default No claims after insurance claim

Hi all recently I was involved in a crash, other party admitted fault and my insurance told me it wouldn't affect my no claims or my insurance in any way, since this I had a quote off another company and when I checked my present company the premium had gone up £600 does this mean I'm not going to get my no claims or is it just as a result of being involved in a crash? Any help appreciated

You will keep your no claims if it's a non fault accident claimed against the other persons insurance.

Going up £600 is steep. Whenever I rang round and told them about my claim against someone else they said it doesn't make any difference.

Went from 900 odd this year to 1588 next year and I just reinsured through another company for 714 but they obviously want proof of no claims and said the same as you, that as it was none fault it shouldn't matter but as this is my first claim I thought I'd ask for other peoples experience thanks

If it's a non-fault claim then I think they shouldn't be allowed to even ask about it. But they do, and it increases your premium. Cunts.

Yep, see my previous threads about my son's premiums going up because of a non-fault claim he made.

Legalised robbery if you ask me, so my advice is shop around and if you're not happy with the price your existing insurer is quoting, tell 'em to shove it and go elsewhere!

If you've had an accident, you're still seen as a higher risk driver, regardless of who's at fault.

I had this argument when someone hit my wifes car, she wasn't even in it, her premium went up and when I asked why they said statistically if you have a non fault claim you are more liked to have a fault claim, I then asked where they are getting there statistics from, they wouldn't say.

Yea, which as a blanket statement is just wrong IMO.

And this is a perfect example.

If the driver isn't even present, how the fuck can that make him/her a higher risk?!

If the claim is still active it will show on your data. Untill its settled then it should drop the quotes back down again.

It's common knowledge that 74% of statistics are just made up!

clarkson ranted about this on top gear once about how there was a dangerous bend outside his house and, as a reslut, his house insurance was more expensive after people kept crashing into the wall

D16PJM similar to my renewal, a girl pulled out on me from a junction totaled my dads car 100% her fault claimed responsability, still my nice quote of £178 on my 2003 focus 2.0 ghia went up to £240, argued with the cunt on the phone says i am statistically more likely to have another accident within 6 months.
