Insurance for a young un
After not having driven for a year im now looking to get a car for uni, however, in the year or so i havent been driving my quotes appear to have gone stupid? Im looking to insure a fiesta 1.4 diesel van and so far the cheapest quote i have gotten is £5800 which i think is crazy. I have been on the usual comparison websites but they have been useless so far. can anyone recommend a firm for someone my age (19)?

no more Granada's for me
it may be because your trying to insure a van, try Adrian Flux insurance, but in my opinion i think you may be doing something wrong in your details for the quote, because that does seem a hell of a lot. http://www.adrianflux.co.uk

My brother is 17 with a mk2 fiesta 1.1 and after getting quotes in excess of £3500 online we called Footman James for a quote. We read a thread on here a few months back as someone had recommended them and my bro got insurance for £800.
It is a limited milage policy with 2 named drivers (myself and mother).
Make sure to always add a couple of named drivers who are lower risk than yourself and the insurance always gives you a better quote.

I no they maybe not the best but i just insured my focus rs with admiral. im 22 with 1 years no claims and quote was £940 fully comp. With some added extra's (uninsured driver protection etc) it was £980. £200+ cheaper than adrian flux quote and £400+ cheaper than my direct line renewal.
