We have some MENTAL lightning going on here in Bath at the mo, and its been proper pitch black nighttime stylee since about 4.45! It dont normally get this dark till about half8, even if weather is poo

heavens opened in sheffield about an hour ago, i was laid under the car fitted the fooking diff, i thought bollox and carried on as i couldnt leave it hanging/on jack, rain stopped, sun came out, half hour later heavens opened twice as bad, still pissing down now

Took a direct hit on the substation just down the road from the water treatment plant i was working at today....

Lost the whole fooking plant for 30 minutes(and 6 other resevoirs,and half of Manchester too..

)

No traffic lights,Morrisons in Denton had to close,etc etc....

Youre better off looking at the Satellite pictures to work out where the storms are as the analysis and prognosis weather charts need a bit of interpreting and are often an approximation of the true complicated situation.
