Black RWD Saph

Bought a RWD saph about 3 weeks ago which is in gloss black and have since been told by a few people that their were very few built in this colour. anyone know if this is true and how many were built in black ?

There is many unconfirmed stories surrounding the gloss black RWD saphs!
They are defo rare.
There were some made in 4x4 which are also rare but RWD/2WD i beleive are rarer.
As to how many were built??? 52 were made ive herd a few times??? Tho this could be the total of 4x4 and 2WD (RHD) versions together???
When i bought my one i got a letter in the history saying RS owners club beleived there to be 100 RWD/2WD gloss black saphs made of which around 10 were Right hand drive???

I own a gloss black 2wd saff ive also heard there were only 10 rhd/rwd but not sure how true that is.

colour code for gloss black is?? and its much more black than ebony black, right?

Colour plate just says Swartz IIRC.

I had a 2wd one. Lots of stories about there only being single numbers about but I think the 52 is more realistic. If you search the foums I expect you could find 10 of them and they can't be the only ones out there.

In my little list I have found 13 inc mine so far am as sure as I can be that there were 55 2wd gloss black sapphs

These was a nice one at ford fair last year. I know a lad who broke one for bits cause it was in a sorry state. The nsr quarter was full of catty. I dont think ive seen a gloss black 4x4.

I used to own one which i'm led to believe is in Ireland now but as Matt said the most reliable figure I heard was 55... and they're rarer than Ebony black 4x4s

Theres deffo more than 10 as iv had 3 myself and sold a couple on too also know of a few but was told theres only been 55 rhd including 4x4...

No pictures yet as got it home and put it straight in the garage as bought it with engine in bits but will try and push it out and get some posted up.

Also herd about the 12 rhd and that one was given to each of the dirctors/chairmen of the ford(UK) RS dealerships at the time???
