Default Nice little barn find

well not quite a barn but stood in a garage for the past 5 years
1 owner from new 67K with full ford dealer service history
Series 1 Escort RS Turbo
all origonal paint, mint trim uncracked dash I was a little giddy when I puilled it out
story is the guy bought it when he was 17.5 years old, unfortunatley he blew the engine up 5 years ago and thats where its sat ever since
just got it back and on the lift to have as check around looks all good, does need a full under bonnet and underneath resto, but a cracking origonal car
will post photos when I have steam cleaned it off

nice , find, if you don't mind me asking how do you find about about these, presume it's your adverts or word of mouth from you being in the game 20 years..

bit like that barn find rs500 you found last year, what happened to that?

I,ll tell you what makes a nice find,...when we find out how much it cost...if he shelled out 10k on it for example, it wouldn,t be such a find now would it !

darren what makes it a nice find is the fact that their is some of these cars still sitting about in peoples garages unrestored ,the cost is irrelevant really, its the excitment of finding them

my opinion of "cheap" and your opinion of "cheap" will be a million miles away as I know the value of what I have found,
I think a mint uncracked 3 door cossie dash is worth a £1000 all day long BUT I guarantee you wont

Lovely car. Looks like it could be a minter with just a little bit of TLC.

Who bought the RS 500? Wouldn't be a certain RS 500 collector that sells RS spares from North Yorkshire would it ?

Supply and demand guys, there aint many things like this left and if you want it then you pay what the market dictates, does it mean l would pay it? no but then it also doesnt mean it is not worth it.

I know where there is/was a 15k miles series 2 sat in a garage, the bloke would not sell a few years back though
