Very rare to find a silver top with the alloy housing. Also the holes are slightly different spacing on the black top so would need on e the holes opening out.

i took the silvertop ally one off my 1800 fez and it bolted straight onto my st170 no messing with the holes.

I drilled most of the alloy insert out of the misaligned hole, was not quite enough as it crack when tightening.

i only fitted that one because i cracked my plastic one when lifting the engine in and out doing the mtx conversion, but they have 3 threaded bosses in them for different water sensors handy if you have a after market management and a water temp gauge.
strange that your one didnt fit tho.

I will have a look and drop you a text, i know they were pretty rare, but the engine in the MK1 deffo has one, and Im 99% sure I have a spare!
May be of use mate!

Difficult to make out the markings on it from these pics. Can you supply the part number? I need one of these housings and the local ford dealer can't seem to locate without part #s

My local Ford dealer says that part number has been superceeded by the newer plastic type housing now
