Considering that the evo had probably less power 276bhp or 300bhp?, more weight i.e 2 people and it still was all over the cossie in the bends and pretty much outbraked the cossie i don't think it did that well. Bet the cossie is around 350+ bhp too.
still nice vid to watch.

yep, only one was belching smoke out the rear end. i wonder if the evo was smoking as much as the cossie during the race.

i did wonder about the cossie, noticed it smoking a little at the beginning when he was giving it a boot full, then at the end the trail of smoke

Also, i get the idea that they weren't actually racing, think they were just recording a few laps of the saph tbh.

Fuzzy does it matter what was belching the smoke out? As isnt to do with way the engines breather etc.

Both properly going around there! Cossie down well considering its the gradnfather of the two. The evo is 15 - 20 years on the cossie in devlopment.

SO your saying that the cossie didn't have uprated brakes and uprated suspension?
agree modern technology is improving things like that but i doubt for 1 second that the cossie in the vid was not setup for the track and did not have suspension to suit!

Believe the cossie is on escos wheels so not alot of room for bigger brakes.
As said earlier the Saph owner is on the forum, cant for the life of me rememeber his username though.

Well said bud.The saff did really well for an old car.You dont have to be that good of a driver to drive an evo cause all the technology on them cars do the driving for you.

neither of those cars is standard. the evo goes through its gears rapid, and the cossy burps massive flames. also towards the end, look how fast both of them catch that escos.
wicked vid!

Personally i'd still take a Cossie over a EVO. I like the feeling of driving something Mechanical as its a better way to become a better driver. When i drove my mates Evo i felt there was no Challange to actually drive it around a track. The computers just make it too easy.

yep, because in an evo you can sit back with your feet up and read the paper as the car does all the work.

thats a fucking good vid that shows that despite everyone saying evos are worlds a head that quite clearly thier not..as for it smoking thats not the point apart from evenon its way out it still gave the evo a run!!!plus i know of enough evos limping of track with big end problms...look at that white 3door at coombe..all over sib in his 575bhp evo and that 3 door is 490bhp and 2wd!!!

Wonder what would have happened if the video was from the cossie and the evo was able to take the corners at the speed it could have? - still rather have a cossie though!

i thought on a few bends that the evo had the cossie but it just had enough power to scrape itself in front again, great vid

its clear from the straights that the cossie has slightly more power but the fact that the evo is supposed to be some monster jap rally car but it couldnt pass an old saff really makes me smile

dont anyone read the comments at the bottom or is it just me

says bothe cars are similar power and gives spec of cossie, and it was the turbo shaft that went in the end

still a good going and yes the evo does have 20 years more technology behind it but just goes to show that an old cossie can still hold its ground against the new modern cars from today

but that cant be right because if you read the threads on htere from mcdonalds car park Rich theye will tell you a evo needs to be at least 400+ bhp to beat a acerage 330 bhp cossie so some cunts lyin

oh shit i forgot about that

forgot evos are the ultiamte 4wd car and bmws are people who think they own something special lol (no offence but most bmw drivers are wankers lol)

id rather have a skyline over a evo or bmw, so much more potential than the pair
