An electric one can easily and safely be mounted inside the car.
Mechanical one would need some sort of isolator for safety IMHO. ( or be mounted elsewhere - under bonnet for example) |

mechanical fuel pressure guages have to be mounted outside the cars cabin, as it is illegal to have fuel lines running inside the car as far as I can remember. An electric guage can be mounted inside the car, as obviously it takes its signal from a sender that is mounte in a fuel line outside the car. mechanical is slightly more accurate, but you would never notice the difference anyway so electric is the way to go for thr road I.M.H.O
