Default Car idling VERY high - intermittent fault - ISCV?

OK guys here's the story..

yesterday i was driving along normally and all of a sudden the car started to idle at about 2200rpm... i thought this was odd so did a few bumpstarts (ie killed engine when rolling and turned it back onto point2 and bumped it) and after about 3 times it started going back to normal... fluke i thought

thismorning, driving to work (in the rain ) and about a mile up the road the same fookin thing happened

after about 5-10mins it went back to normal.

it's not the throttle sticking, so its obviously the ISC opening wide open, but would that be because the valve itself is fault, or the ECU was telling it to open 100% due to something more sinister?

is there a way you can test ISCVs? Mine's <2years old and is a motorfactors part (i think... it was fitted by previous owner ive got a receipt somewhere)

Jim, let me know if you want a hand cleaning the iscv. Its a bit of a swine to get off as the ISCV air pipe is so tight you can't get to the screws. I've got a spare one knocking around somewhere which you could try.
