Default Capri engine swap question....

When people do engine swaps in mk3 Capris, what do they generally tend to go for outside of YBs?

Just was thinking this morning that I should add the Capri to my shortlist for possible project cars in the near future but would want more a efficient and powerful engine in than any of the stock stuff.

I know where there is a Thunderbird with a 5.0 V8 auto and 9inch rear axel for Ł500.

Chop it up for its guts and your off!

The 24v Cosworth is from the Scorpio and it's an Auto ain't it? Really wouldn't fancy having to have an automatic.....

I didn't realise it was as easy as just attaching a manual box to it. Are there any mating probs with it?

Probably easier to go the 24v than the V8 I would imagine, but whaty sort of power is the V8 pushing out?

Would be fantastic if I could do a Capri with RS2k or Mondeo Si 4x4 running gear but I dunno if it is possible.
