Default Lovely day for Engine bay Spring clean

It was a really warm day in Southampton today so I spent it cleaning my engine bay which has not been cleaned since September.

Group A air box with ITG competition cone filter inside it.

Looks nice but gets plenty of hard use!

Pre-turbo cooler, RS500 style intercooler and uprated alloy radiator

A&S Hart style Inlet. Plenty of polishing with Solvol Autosol!!!

All looks very nice but I do have one dislike.. That turbo intake pipe is just plain nasty, easy fix though

You are right , mostly alloy parts to use the old Solvol Autosol on.

Its very skilled alloy welding and I like it better than a silicone hose,

Personal taste, but I have always liked it and a very skilled bit of alloy welding.

Difficult to say as it was fitted at the same time as the L8 ecu , T38, Siemens 83lb injectors , 044 pump, new engine , fans and fuel pump looms and wasted spark ignition, plus custom chip from MSD. It all works very well together. Engine already had group A spec head, 200 wire rung block , balanced bottom end with competiton bearings, Bd10 & Bd12 cams, low comp valve cut out Mahle pistons, T35 hybrid turbo and greys etc.
Keeping it clean isnt to hard as once everything has a good smooth shiny finish its fairly easy to maintain.

I have never looked at cleaning my car a chore, and I do try to keep on top of it, as the longer you leave it the harder it is.
The dirtiest it got last year was an awful drive in heavy rain up to York from Southampton and back. It was filthy and took a couple of days to get it properly clean again.

I feel satisfied when I'm left with a clean car, but I do feel my time could of been spent better elsewhere, that's why I now give my daily to the bozzo's and just clean my weekend toy and misses car, I think the final straw was when I'd spend 6-8 hours cleaning my car the Sunday and by 6 Monday morning the thing would be filthy again.

My Daily Renault Laguna 2.0 estate does get cleaned but not to the same standard as my Saff. This time of the year it is virtually impossible to keep cars clean!

Yeh agree with this time of year is impossible to keep cars clean. I ve just been washing my mondeo and the wifes focus. I haven't polished them for ages.
