A good mapper with the proper tools and knowledge can use high comp and fast injectors on old kit.
Engine building and parts matching are not things you can map around....

Other things are also needed. The best mapper can't map around certain limitations.

This was on aftermarket management too so its not just that but the whole spec
The old owner of H20 COS (the other Pug Cossie 205) said the same, the lag on the turbo made it slower than his 300 bhp 205 in real road use.

You say this 'real road use' but I disagree there, driving style, gearboxes, etc all make a difference as well, if I keep the revs up all time time it's not gonna be laggy when I wanna accelerate??
It just need keeping in its powerband.

Don't forget I've only made do with it so far as it is what was fitted when I bought the car...

When do the bigger efr's come on or near full boost?
I'm talking 8374 or 9180, as that's the kinda power I'm after

Here is Cossie Dave's I saw this make 700.3 bhp on the Dyno when Mark mapped it, Dave says there is some lag but nothing that dropping a cog doesn't solve to blow away a sports bike.

I believe this is on 9180....from 5250 to 8000 rpm it is flying

...............and there is an Ally block waiting in the wings

The TCF will be on the graph, mine was 1.10.

The figure is HUBS.

TT T38, billet comp wheel, anti surge housing.

Figure was with 2.23bar boost.

Can't find the graphs, will post when I find them.

Interesting thread, good power made at the top end.Im using a twin scrool s200 borg warner on my car and its a big improvement over the gt30 I previously had but stil quite laggy, im using a l8 with pectel board which is holding it back, now have a autronic sm4 ecu to fit over Christmas and then get it booked in with mark to map, so I guess il be able to let u know exactly how a more modern ecu works against a sl8, im hoping for a much better car all round, as iv had lots of starting issues, fouling plugs etc on the l8.

There no doubt about it when you see the spec an efr comes with as standard it's a cracker of a turbo, anything that uses titanium gernally is lol.

Lee2cossies will be interesting to see your views, will you be using the same wiring loom in both cases?

The autronic management needs a different loom, luckily my set up came with a loom, I have a new l8 loom from autodynamix on my car and he said if needed he could modify my loom to work with the autronic ecu.

That's really good torque, is the evo graph that's directly above this one got a torque limit on it or something as it's 100lbft less than the last cossie graph you posted?

No that is the diff from swapping turbo and manifold.
Doug's engine responded very well to the mods.

As far as aftermarket goes tech it shouldn't make more but it does. Play old school Atari and then PS4 this is the diff in knowledge and spec of the ecu diff you currently have to the new type aftermarket.

But the Atari still works 30 plus years on and that ps4 will pack up just after a year.......

Threads like this will always cause arguments and very different opinions lol. No one denies the old way of doing tings won't get you a number. Dose it compare to the modern way in terms of power delivery how soon it comes in and the torque a spec and set up from someone who knows what there doing? Not in a million years. But if your happy with it fair play everyone it different and can afford different things

Full boost on black graph is just before max tq. On the red one the boost was sim to black due to the .63 but was surge limited and to much exhaust cam.
