I was just discussing this last night on Bakebook, the price of parts, cars etc has just gone silly now! Took a bit of abuse over it too!!

Dont get me wrong, i appreciate they are rare and old but i just couldnt justify spending that sorta money on something that isnt a life necessity.

Ive owned my car for coming 17 years now and have thought about changing it for something else but theres no way i would give stupid money for another weekend car

Ebay has been the ruin of most prices IMO, if your selling something you get buttons for it but if your buying you have to pay way over the odds. Maybe thats just my luck

there you go then. every days a school day !
never heard the tern shield bidding before but it does seem like something else as the money drops rather than fake bids to bump it up.
ive re read the shield bid thing, it doesn't make any sense to me? whys that a scam because 2 people pull out leaving the 3rd bidder to win?

If the auction starts at £800 and someone bids £850 then 2 big fake bids are placed then retracted at the last moment the £850 bid wins.
If the car is worth £1300 then the bids appear to be more than the car is worth so nobody else bids or can bid,but when the bids are retracted the first bidder gets a bargain.
I assume.

Nice engine bay. It looks like it has an older interior in it but I could be wrong? Only seen late 4x4s with either raven or rainbow seats before

Interior is ok,I had a j 1991 4wd sapp years ago,1 owner car and it had the same interior as the e bay car. Later 4wd facelift would be J 1992 onwards for the rainbow or leather trim options.

I like that saff, only thing it has highlighted to me is the exhaust looks like a pea shooter and has confirmed my concerns about changing mine to a more standard looking item.

Also, hadn't heard of that shield bidding before... hats off to the scumbags fro thinking of this...

Not the best example and engine bay is rough, blue, red and standard hoses, oil breather dangling, cable ties everywhere.it just looks thrown together.
Add in the well placed seatbelt strap to cover the worn seat, wrong wheels,in jacking covers, broken sideskirt clips, wonky headlight wiper,no stone deflector on the bumper he may be being a bit ambitious.
The interior is correct,it's not rainbow,it's what you hit in Flint grey non leather cars as my 1st 2wd had that interior.

I dont think its a very good example, lots of details let it down IMO. Suprised there is not a better description of what exactly has been done to the engine that it says has had over£10k spent on it.
Makes mine worth the £23k its got for its agreed value on my insurance.

That seems like a bargain to me, just read the description and once completed will be almost like a new car.

If had the money I'd definitely be having a bid. Be curious to see how much it goes for and if it actually sells or gets relisted

That's why i posted it on here. Could be a gem for someone

I don't think that you can retract your bid with less than 24hrs left of the auction anymore?
