Default Dry bearing sound

Fellow ST owners

I recently purchased a 2015 ST3 with 22,000 miles on the clock. Now having owned this car now for 4 wks I have noticed what can only be described as a dry bearing noise coming from the drivers side of the engine that is constant whilst the engine is running and seems to get louder when driving the car!...I have since put it into Ford to diagnose to which they have replaced some idleing tensioner if that makes sense.....yet the noise is still there!..They are adamant this is a common noise to which I have nothing to worry about.....not happy with the answer I got I have since sought a second opinion at Keith Motors another Ford dealership. One of the mechanics had made a comment saying he had seen similar questions being asked on other Ford forums to which no answer was available. can I ask if anyone on here has had/have/heard the noise I am describing and if so have you managed to find the source and what was required to rectify?.....any help/advise is greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance

Could be the air-con pulley. It happened on my Evo.

Try something like this to see if the noise goes away.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/CarPlan-WBU.../dp/B00499DFNM

Obviously its not a permanent fix. spray on each 'component' until you find what one it is. Its how I found out my air con pulley was at fault.

Glenn/RSmark84

Thanks for your replies

Car is booked in next month into a ford garage to sort under warranty. Was just looking to see if someone else had/has experienced the same noise to which I could give the mechanics a head start on where to look??

Focus or fiesta?
I have a 62'plate focus st and took it to ford back in january with noise coming from the engine, belt side. The said they put talcum powder on the pulleys and it stopped. Well the noise was exactly the same as it was before...

The injectors are very noisy on these engines and it could be that making the noise?

When it was Ford they used an ext bar from a socket set and placed it on the block to which the noise was clearly heard, however after having my car for 2 days and replacing something completely different like you the noise is still there!....hence booked into another Ford garage hoping they will rectify.........

Tbh if you google it as i did, i think you will find its quite 'normal' in a sense.

I done the whole screwdriver thing and concluded it was the injectors.

I have tried, and the injectors tend to make a ticking noise....I have 2 work colleagues who also have 65 plate ST's one with just over 2000 miles(Sunday car) and the other just over 7000 miles....neither one have this noise....that could be down to the mileage difference between there's and mine....

Mine is on 38k now, had it since 26k and its been the same the whole time.

I have not heard another in person to compare it to either.

If you find out what it is let me know!

Will it continue to run if the alternator isn't spinning? Thought the battery was only used to start the car then the alternator takes over

because the car is still under manufacturers warranty I personally don't want to tinker with it.....When I drop it off on the 28th Nov I will mention that I have posted this issue on a forum and let them know of any comments that could assist them in resolving this issue......again thanks to all to whom have taken the time in replying....
