RS500 for sale ebay - I dont think so
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VERY-RARE-.../172348548351?
Found this on ebay.
RS500??
no 8 injector plenum
No T4 Turbo
Wrong turbo damper
Wrong intercooler
Wrong thermostat
Certainly not an RS500 engine, I doubt very much the rest of the car.

theres only 3 reasons i can think that its a k plate either left unregistered until 1992, built from parts and registered in 1992 or exported and came back into the country in 1992 and dvla cocked up designating it with a k plate, it used to happen alot

It used to be around years ago, remember the fast ford feature, it was built from a new shell, they even reffered to it as an rs500 in the mag feature, guy who worked for a1 rallysport built it im sure, had some nice bits back then which have all gone now by the looks.

Looks like every single decent part has been stripped off it including the rs500 bumpers and spoiler and a load of crap bolted back onto. Mind u at £5000 with a running and driving car, if it's true it has no rust then it's a seriously cheap way into 3 door Cossie ownership.

Ye think I remember seeing that in the mag.

If it was built from Parts it couldn't be built into a genuine RS500 or even Cosworth
Ditto re export and on DVLA it isn't registered
Furthermore its a Cat C, worth only the sum of parts

Google the reg, she's done the rounds. Nice to see another resurface even if it is a lemon.

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
Piece of shit, all the 500 bits are gone probably replaced with fibreglass spoiler/bumper, doubt it was an original 500 unless registered late, not worth more than 5k but I guess anything that has barn written in the title will go for 20k

All RS500 were registered in 1987 so could not be registered a genuine RS500 in 1992

My friend owned this and sold it the current owner thats selling it, 500 parts wise the front bumper and lower spoiler are both genuine. My friend bought it as a shell and collected most of the parts together, the original builder built it in 92 from a new shell

Hello James long time mate hope your well. I nearly bought a white e plate one not so long ago but I have lost the love mate and really can't justify the money they are fetching.
I've decided on a supercharged Monaro and am on the hunt for one at the minute.
Any progress on your projects???

I have every idea what Sierra parts are worth, I've owned various cosworths since 98, I also know what people charge for the parts which is not what they are worth, it's not like the engine will have a fresh crank and head, it will be tired most likely with a 205 non rs500 block

but at the end of they day they might not be "worth" that in your eyes but people will still buy them at that price and use them. 1500 for an engine is better than some of the prices i've seen them sell for.
All depends if someone wants something they can drop in and use straight away or if someone wants it for a spare to refresh or rebuild. Judging by most of the threads on here at that price it would sell easily even as spares.
