I received my 044 pump from burton power. I orderde at burtons because they are good to deal with and the 044 pump saved me alot of bucks compared to buy one here in the netherlands.

If i check the visual appearence against a fake version of the pump it looks real.

When i reiceved it the boxing seal was broken. It came in a plastic inside the box with the fuel non return valve already mounted.

When i put in the 18 digit safety code on protect bosch it says it may be a copy.
If i scan the QR code with TecIdentify it shows as an original product.

Don't know if burton sells fake or reals?

It would be pretty appalling if they had knowingly sold a fake. I'd be fairly confident its real tho.

If there is no hellie coil in the end of the pump its a fake gen 044s have a hellie coil in them

could it be that Burton have sent you someone's return, eg person A have purchased a genuine 044 from burton and returned a fake one in the genuine box for a refund

I can't imagine burton would be selling copies.

The only thing that sounds a bit suspect is that you say the box had already been opened etc.

Maybe steppy has a good point?

Yes that is what i thought also. Could be that customs service had openend it... But then i would expect the plastic bag also to be opend. and the burton power tape of the big order box also to be broken.

The pump has the helicoil in it. Think im sending an e-mail just to let them know. In case of faillure or something..

strangely enough before this[probably pre web days or at least in its infancy] helicoil and wrapper with seal,chzec etc came out a few years ago bosch pumps never had a helecoil...yet nowadays it seems its the first item to look for,then the wrapper/seal etc.....

Fake, made Germany, M14 inlet, or m18 with no helicoil in intake (newer copies also say Czech Republic)

i have checked it and it looks like the genuine from the photo's.
The way the top is sealed, the way the bottom end is rounded, the heli coil, the type of letters pressed in the housing, the thick electrical connections, the color of the electrical connectiens it all seems like a genuine.

I've send an e-mail to burton power. I'll let you guys know of the outcome.
