I totally agree with the statement about Birmingham! I personally would not buy a decent motor from Birmingham especially if its one to keep for a while!
The only trouble is, im from Birmingham and when I sell a car its a good motor with an honest advert but my location leaves me with nothing but time wasters or a long wait!

I also live in Birmingham and suffer the same problem it's usually price that will sell a car, I'll look around and price it under what is about at dealers and private and it won't shift till Iv knocked a few more hundred off the price

Theres a flip side to this though, when I was looking for a focus there was an advert that had been online for a while which was a bit like: Black, 1.6, looks very nice, but has a scuff. 90k
Thats literally all it said with 3 shit pics.
I went and had a look and it was almost like new, really good spec, full ford service history.none of this had been mentioned before. I gave it a proper good look, hpi check etc. It was already £1k cheaper than all the others for sale but the owner still accepted more off the asking price.
Really weird one that was and nearly 2 years later and 12k the car hasn't cost me anything.

Years ago I phoned up about a ka in Birmingham for a family member, I asked if it had any rust? The bloke replied"ka's leave the factory rusty so not to worry about that" I laughed but thought fuck that then.

Funnily enough all of the Fords and RS's I've ever bought have been from Birmingham and all of them were cheap for what they were including my Cossie but I suppose you cant blame the rust issues on the people of Brum! But that was in my youth where I bought a car on impulse rather than thinking clearly and a lot has changed since then! These days I'd rather steer clear from local cars including selling to Brummies!
Asian people just love to haggle on price! Even on the cheapest of cars! Im from Bangladesh so I should know!
On the flip side we don't like to Price Drop either!!!!

This is one thing that annoys me.

I sold my discovery the other week, guy rang me up and asked for my honest opinion, so i told him exactly what i thought of it, he turned up and loved it, drove it home 10 minutes later.

I'd rather just be honest, it saves wasting 2 peoples time then
