Talking suspension turrets still showing some rust - more powerfull stuff to use?

after a good while grinding the suspension turrets on the golf mk3 vr6 yesterday ive removed a lot of the crap, ive used hammerite rust remover but as you can see its not clear metal / dark in one area, its as solid as anything but want to clear it up more, any ideas what to use chaps?

wantto get it as rust free as i can before i acid etch it.

Hi , using rust converter requires surface rust for the oxidisation process to take place as pictured. If the metal is not to badly pitted and you can afford to smooth out the area you would not need to use rust converter just primer.
As said a wire cup would work to clean up.

Cheers.

I used this stuff on hard to reach areas, it's acid based and eats the rust down to clean metal.

Takes quite a while and you have to keep applying it and agitating it with a stiff brush.

Trouble is, it would probably run down your arm and sting like crazy doing the strut top in the picture
