Default Help - Agreed Valuation

Just wondering if anyone can offer some advice please

I have been asked by my insurance company to obtain an independent valuation for my 3dr cossie.

Has anyone got an recommendations in the south Yorkshire area. I am unable to contact the RS owners club as they are currently closed so thought I would try here

Thanks

This is quite normal when you want to have an agreed value. I dont know how long you have had your 3 door but is there not a garage/tuner that you have used on a regular basis who can help you?
The insurance company needs a letter from them saying that in their opinion the car is worth no less than x amount and that they have done work on it and it also helps if they say they know you as well.
The insurance company will also need photos of the car, from each side, front and rear and interior and engine bay.
A word of caution which you probably already know, make sure you tell them of ALL MODIFICATIONS that have been done as well. Do not give them any excuse to not pay out in the unlikely event your car was stolen/ not recovered or written off in a fire or accident.
Depending on the Insurance company they usually ask you to update every 2 or 3 years.
It may sound like a bit of a pain but well worth it to make sure your pride and joy is properly valued and covered.

Thank you for your response I bought the shell 10 years ago and have done a full nut and bolt restoration myself. Footman James have said it can't be anyone that has done any work on the car yet the majority I have done myself and I must not know the valuer. I did send them the valuation form and told them absolutely everything that I had done and they have come back saying they don't agree according to there books although when I took out the policy they said they could see it being a problem and I paid the premiums for the agreed valuation. I now need an independent valuation.

cossiejonjon. Your Insurance company seem to be making it hard for you.
As suggested you will have to take it to a recognised Cosworth specialist and get them to do your valuation.
I have had an agreed value on my 2wd Saff for the past 18 years of the 21 years I have owned it and never had any issues with it.
Hope you get it sorted out soon.
