Mk4 Mondeo 2.0tdci auto as a daily
I need a big estate, after being disappointed by the e class for having a smaller boot than my mk3, the v70 for its poor fuel economy and nothing else really that's big enough, I'm back to a Mondeo again, what are they like to live with, it'll be mainly bladdered up and down the motorway, and stuck in rush hour traffic, are the auto box's reliable? Are timing belts a pain to replace? as I'll try and get one cheap if it needs doing and fit myself, anybody's experiences are welcome

They are alright, I've got this engine in my cmax. Had it remapped and it makes it a bit livelier. Bloke at work travels the lower half of the country and he has the mk4 2.0 tdci auto, he's getting on for 200,000 miles in it with no serious problems. The box fluid needs to be changed around every 30k I think, it needs plugging in to a computer to do it to open valves inside the box etc.
