They've (Legend vehicles) tagged Gav Diamond on the original picture on Twitter. Absolutely gutted for him, I would want to hang them if someone did that to my car.

As an owner of a bodyshop (absolute body repair in Essex) I can honestly say there are too many cowboys in the body repair trade! Sometimes I feel embarrassed associating myself with the trade because of things like this. Feel sorry for the owner but on the plus side the body look perfectly salvageable.

This is so true. I feel so sorry for the genuine skill full guys out there, I'm a mechanic and I've tried my hand at bodywork and have neither the skill nor patience bar painting small things like wing mirrors or wheels etc. Hats off to the proper tradesman

its not just the bodyshop trade, every trades got cowboys and 1 bad story spreads further thanks to social media and causes more damage to the trades than the good that 100 good stories brings.
I'm not body expert but I cant see how that's not salvageable going by market values we see in threads on here?

Yes this is my car...

I have been advised of this post, my phone has not stopped all weekend but due to working I've not had chance to do anything

This has caused a load of grief as been trying to sort out a house purchase that takes priority over a car and is also why my budget is not that great for the car

Anyway I'm sure many people are saying the car is a shed or whatever so I have today cleaned the foam shite off and taken some pictures

The foam was not used to repair holes, it's crap and shouldn't be on my car after the money I spent but I cannot change what has been done

The body shop that did it for anyone concerned was Vidak Motor Bodies in Nuneaton as I'm sure I'll get asked anyway

Anyway to show sills are good, just a small bit of surface rust

The main issue I had was the quote of Ł10,000 to sort these nasty bodges out and sort a few problems at the front where crap work was covered by filler
A cost of this much I cannot justify as I've had the car painted a number of times to date and every time the cost increases and to have another bare metal repaint is frustrating

Sorry to hear that Gav. Especially after the time money and faith gone into the car. Take it to Trevor Jones, he bare metal painted Martin Hadland's car and Martin was very impressed!

The rest of the car from the photos looks in good condition, far from only being a scrapper! When you can afford it get it sorted as I am sure in years to come you would regret getting rid of it.
I would be fuming if a so called body-shop bodged my car up like that and I think you have done the right thing in naming and shaming.
A place that turns out work like that does not deserve to be in business!!

I know how you feel matey. The first Bodyshop my cossie went to did a crap job. They replaced my rear arches but a few months later the rust started coming through.

Then a few years later it went to another Bodyshop which robbed me off 1200 quid and he didnt even finish the car. Then it went to a proper bodyshop and he finished the car off for me.

I know these cars are frustrating most of the time your3dr like my own have been on a long journey no sense in giving up now mate I've been through this already very similar circumstances my advice for what it's worth depending on what finish on the car your after would be strip that fucker back down and start again bodywork wise the car prob owes you like mine far more than it's worth and you shouldn't let it beat you.
My choice was to get a new shell and go from there and my original she'll had fuck all wrong with it really but as said depends what you want at end.i have watched your journey all the way gav and the dedication you put into this car I can't see how you can walk from it personally, goodluck what ever you decide but bear in mind you may never end up with another one like the one you've got now,
just so you know I've started from scratch bear metal nut and bolt three times with my 3dr all caused by bodyshops and spent massive money on paint now I'm finally there there's not much left of its original form but that's how I wanted it dig in bud don't look back

As much as i love cossies and miss my old saph i wouldnt spend that amount on repairs for me it would be time to sell of in parts and buy a modern toy if its just a toy. Gutted for you.

Everyones different though and only you can decide whats best.

Running gear into a focus maybe ?

From previous pictures and threads about the car it looked very very clean. If it's just under the kit that's bad and it's not rotten how the hell can it cost 10 grand! I'd find another body shop there's plenty out there that are good that can no doubt do it a lot cheaper

This what I dont understand. Are there lots of other bodywork problems as well which are not shown in the photos? If it is only the arches and the rest of the paint and bodywork is good how can it be a Ł10k repair job?
As others have said when you can afford it do your homework and shop around as there will be a decent body shop somewhere which will do it for a sensible cost.

WTF! I'd soon be back at body shop who done it, demanding they pay to put it right! Disgraceful how they can do shit like that an give it back. If I had to do job like that I wouldn't bother
