Apart from the then triple plate clutch now going to a twin plate rods car drives like a normal car in traffic.

What's the boost threshold difference between your last turbo and this latest one?

Should have the other oil pump out shortly.

It was road car until 2011 when it was taken off the road. The new engine will push the envelope of a road useable engine as far as 2016 development will allow. 200mph will be just out of reach with 700bhp but im sure Mark will give you the extra 20 horses or so an Escort will need to be assured of 200mph. I would love to be present if this happens

Have you ever run it up the quarter mile recently at all?
Even in its 600hp guise?

Unless you are setting or claiming YB records that wont matter to you. Personally if I moved away from a YB it would be to a V8 so 2000+bhp could be achieved.

There is a good oppliger vid of a big power escos doing 60mph to 120mph in 6 seconds, what is funny is that the speedo flicks up there straight away which means it is wheel spinning and then it just settles. It gets there chuffing fast!

There is a great article in Evo this month where they get to drive a brand new 600bhp rally cross car, it weighs 1300 kilos and has 7speed sequential geared for 120mph max and anti lag (proper) and you just get to feel how damn fast it is, he says that the p1 and Veyron that he drove didn't even come close.

My car will only be geared 20-30 higher and will be lighter which should be interesting when I go over 500bhp

Yes, I converted it, it is 100kph to 200kph thats 60 to 120 in my book.

What I cant work out is why it is spinning as surely 4wd, if 2wd the fronts and therefore the speedo wouldnt spin up unless it had an electronic pick up on the rears...which would be odd for a standard dash Escos surely.

I will post up a link

Editted to add: Cannot find the damned vid now...I am now questioning my self if I did the mental converstion backwards and it WAS 60 to 120 KPH as that might make more sense but I am sure it is not and even then it doesn't really explain the wheelspin...does it?

Oppliger site is down too

It was 100-200kph.
My rwd did that in 5.1 back in 2005 with Datron.

What is odd is that in my link it seems a lot more sedate, still flicks up the Rev range, I wonder if it is somehow "manipulated" on the YouTube link I watched? I don't think it does wheel spin at all but the speedo does something odd.

Also, watch it with the sound off and it gives a totally different look to the acceleration.

Seen that video there's another where the escort is racing a 2wd saff with similar power and the escort pulls away, would expect it to be the other way around so must be something wrong!

Thanks Romain. I think Bara sent you a message today to ship my quick shifter directly to him. I sent you the money earlier in the week. Thanks From Toby.

Thanks for your input, the vid is great and a quick Cossie. You ought to post up the black one with 800bhp

Should a 650hp car not be doing it a lot quicker than that ? especially a 4wd one.
