Default Ex Delecour Sierra Cosworth A7 FMC

Hello everyone - I'm looking for a bit of help locating number plate A7 FMC.

I've bought the ex Delecour Sierra cosworth that came off the San Remo rally in 1992 and went into a hidden car collection in Germany (as it was exported the no. Came off it)

Now it is back in the UK!

The DVLA has informed me the number plate is on retention and has built up fees but won't tell me who owns it......recon still ford, but haven't got anywhere when trying with them.

Anyone know anything or anyone in ford. Or someone who could help?!

I'm sure those numbers stayed with ford when the cars went into private hands, the prevous non FMC plates tended to stay with the cars based on what ive seen of them.

Nice find BTW what condition is the car in any pics?

Not yet, but there will be a rebuild thread in the near future, we are on with getting the cage reproduced to original 90spec for the new historics.

You are going to use it in historic rallying then? Be good to see it doing what is was built for again. Looks in top condition, you must be very happy to have found it.

Yes will be used for rallying, not into storing and polishing them.

What boost were they running back then?
I see a 3 bar boost gauge so assume it will be much.

Was this the one Matthias was selling ?

Did it have a chassis plate on the slam panel to tie in with a hpi check ...

Got a few pics of A7FMC myself

Apparently there is a copy of the car with a fake chassis plate on it, although good it is obvious that it is not the correct works car (the wiring looms the most obvious thing)

To answer your question, it was not the car that Matthiias was selling - perhaps it's the copy?

All the numbers check out, and have copies of all log books and numbers - this one had disappeared for over 22 years!!!!

Nothing wrong with the cages apart from no one supplies them, had long discussions with safety devices and all there info has been lost. The shell we have is Gordon spooner/boreham shell. So anyone wanting to build a Sierra for the new pre-1990 historic championship can have a works spec cage. We just had the cage scanned today with the faro-arm.

Because we are rebuilding an ex q8 car am taking the oppurtunity to take all data/ mounts brakets, bushes, all the little group a details. we Will be remaking the chassi engine mounts as no one supplies these. We have the jigs for the Gse rear beams and arms. Going to be a long job but will get there.
