Have narrowed it down to the fuel pump - where's the best place to get a new one?

give it a light tap all around with the wooden end of a hammer, they gum up sometimes and just need a nudge to get whirring again

Thanks all, just ordered a new one from MSD.
I'll probably end up doing a mini restoration at the same time. Haven't laid a spanner on the car in a few years but I can feel the urge to get it back on the road now I've lay underneath it.

Yeah unfotunately the fuel pump hanger assembly can look quite shabby cos its so exposed under there. I refreshed mine on my 3dr 18 months ago cos it looked rusty.
I think the hardest part may be getting new rubber mounts if they are perished.

you can buy remanufactured cradles now and they come with rubbers

I used the rubbwr bobbings of the 1.8 ford diesel engines boost pipes. The hold the pipes to the cam cover.
