I imagine there's gonna be a time when I won't be able to keep the old Cossie on the road when prices go seriously mental. Glad there's still people making so many aftermarket parts new

That saff rep looks a decent car, the escort reps are well over priced.

I could never own a replica, Well atleast one badged as a Cosworth anyway.

The embarrassment of someone asking to see the engine and you reveal something other than a Cosworth.

Another thing that boils my piss about replicas is people will try and race them and beat them and bang on to everyone they've beaten a Cossie and Cossies are shit slow lol

A cossie rep is like sticking a M badge on a Diesel bmw.

I don't think owning a replica would bother me to much. I got my saff when they were 3500 grand. I got it purely to tune. If I smashed mine up and had to re shell it and I was faced with an over priced shell that has a cosworth I.d or a mint 1.8lx shell I'd be driving a replica

See I don't see a 1.8lx with everything cosworth on it as being a replica as such, yes it doesn't have id but it's not as if the cossie shell is any superior at all.

A rep to me is one that doesn't have a yb fitted as let's face it that's the ONLY part that is to do with cosworth.

It's all personal preference at the end of the day as you know what the cosworth scene is like these days full of new old stock 100% original bullshit.

I thought that saph rep look a bit of a shed. Typical blurry pics taken in the rain of a grubby car doesn't make a great first impression. The escorts looks much better but not wherein put my money.

Thing with a cossie rep you can use it and park it and not worry about it getting stolen unlike a cossie and they are pretty reliable and cheap to run. I have a dohc Sierra it is a rep but not badged as a cosworth I've owned it since I was 20 and love it, it drives great, never ever breaks and is mega cheap to run. I've got a cossie as well so it's not always a case of someone can afford the real deal.

Depends how good a rep it is,if it looks the same as a saph cos then to anyone who is looking around for 1 to steal then it is every bit as likely to get lifted as a real cossie, the parts are still worth money even if the engine isnt there so if I had a rep I'd be every bit as cautious as if I had a real cossie.

Watching that washer bottle closely,I picked up 2 and a 2wd header tank from a closing down sale at a ford garage near me.

Yep, a lot of greed in the world. Money seems to be a measure of success, not in my book.

I had the smaller version of one of these brand new out of a mk4 escort in my local scrappy, never been filled in at all, asked the owner who I know, what he wanted for it and he said you can have it.

It's not greed. They can advertise it for whatever they like, if someone is willing to pay the price then fair enough! I sold a buckled set of alloy wheels for 400 quid, they were probably worth 100 at the most. Described them perfectly but someone seemed to want them desperately enough.

That would be the big difference between me and you, if I had a set of buckled wheels which I knew were worth fuck all they would have gone as scrap metal or I would have sold them for a very small amount. You seem to be proud that you sold them for loads more than they were worth.
