I've got a a heap of genuine ford xr2 bits, pretty much a full braking system, full set of lights, all boxed and hidden away in my loft. Got a few other bits and bobs for Rs turbos, so glad I've always been a hoarder with car bits and they can all stay in my loft another 10 yrs

Or you could sell them now to help a fellow Ford enthusiast who is rebuilding an XR2 or RS turbo who may be really struggling to find parts! Just a thought.

thats the problem with the ford scene these days, i've off loaded a fair few rs turbo parts either cheap or for free but a lot of people only seem to be interested in lining their own pockets rather than helping out other enthusiasts.

There was a time when you couldn't give them away especially the 14" ones. What a joker!

Pisses me off people adding the 'RS' tag to stuff like this. They were never fitted to an RS Turbo or a Cosworth of any description, wrong size. Just blatant profiteering!!

I've been after a set of lattice wheels for over a year but people used to give them away and now I could almost buy another car with the amount there fetching, and then they need a refurb on top of that. Not worth bothering

I haggled a guy down to £400 for a set of lattices,2 were unused spares, other 2 were used a bit.i had them refurbed for £360 and tyres were £200,sure the new centers were £40ish so I was a grand for lattices by the time I was done.
They do make the car the way I wanted it though.

Same with the wheels for my 3dr. paid £300 for a set of wheels (never previously refurbed), £400 ish for the refurb and another £300 for a set of tyres.
Like you say, a lot of money but they really do look the part now

Problem get real, no one owes you a living bud. Helping you don't pay there Mortgage im afraid they do whats best for there family not yours. These rare parts are investment parts these days & you will have to pay the going price. Its getting an expensive game. Parts are not overpriced if they are still being sold.

where did i say i was owed a living? i'm part of a group of good lads who help each other out with parts no matter what the value, at the end of the day if the parts don't owe me much then i don't need to make money on them, i go to work to earn my money anyway. thats the difference between genuine enthusiasts and people like yourself.

I am with you 100% on this, there are to many greedy people out there who think if they have any parts remotely connected to classic Fords ( Cosworths in particular) they can ask crazy prices for them.
I do sell car stuff on E-bay etc but always at a fair and reasonable price.I do have a conscience and would not feel right knowing I was deliberately ripping people off.
I recently posted a "Free Sierra Parts" thread on here as I was given a box full of parts which have now gone to help other Ford enthusiasts out all over the UK and even to the US and Greece! They cost me nothing and I know I could have made money on them but that is not me.

Not overpriced as such, but who the hell is bidding on it?! Look at the roof, I've never seen one that bad. Judging by that and the front bumper mounts that bodykit is being held on by hopes and dreams.

These are still available through DMB for £6.99

its not a genuine s2 shell, its an xr3i, and going by the write up a few of the decent parts are being taken off and won't go with the car either.

If someone's genuinely bidding on that then they need their head read. My mates got a white one in full working roadworthy condition and he only wants £3k for that lol

It's funny how right you are a plain one without the rs logo would be lucky to fetch 15 quid
