picked this up a few week ago after the last few year looking for one .

it was hiding away since 2007,and need a few little jobs to tidy it up but tbh i am just going to drive this one and have put up 500 mile in a past few weeks

That looks beautiful, I'd be reluctant to drive it as I wouldn't want to spoil it.

These have always been one of my favourite fords ever. Still would be in my top 3 id say. Look epic in most colours especially whitw and grey for me!
This one is one of the best ive seen, perfection!

As per James they are fun to drive, think it's the lower final drive that makes it feel a bit more rorty than they really are. This looks like a lovely example and good to see it. Ring used, they always run better used than stored!

cheers glenn,
thanks mate ,
i was a always a s1 man myself and have had 4 of them including the one i have now .for some reason i overlooked these through my 30 years of owning fast fords.if i knew then what i know now i would have a garage full of them lol.
cheers buddy,it does have a few niggles with the paintwork but im going to ignore them for the nest year or so and just drive it
thanks max ,i have to say i am finally appreciating these little beasts
it was very well looked after mate ,as you can see the engine bay is covered in waxoil and although it has a few little blisters showing ,they are negligable.i live in ireland so the plates are correct but if i sold it into the uk it would go back on its old y reg plate
thanks mate
cheers dave
thanks fil ,the plates really do give it a retro feel
tbh it has surprised me and my mates just how nippy it is especially on back roads .it has a full janspeed 4 branch and system which seems to make a nice rorty sound without the drone ,it also has cossie brakes which i have to say have transformed how i drive it compared to my s1 which has brakes that are chronic to say the least lol
cheers jason ,totally here what your saying mate
thanks mate ,its just the king of retro in my eyes too
i got lucky again mate ,as i was out of the country when this popped out of hiding and luckily my buddy asked him would he be interested in selling it which he was as he never used it in 7 years
thanks eagle .i always am of the opinion that good cars pop up if your patient ,and if you rush it it usually ends in tears .i have been looking for 3 years now before this came up
thanks mate ,yes i love mk3,s more than any other car of its era .i would happily sell a 3 dr cossie for one of these if i had too lol

I bought and sold one of these earlier this year, red one with 53k on it. Immaculate and un restored.
Not really my thing as I'm into Cossies and proper escorts mk1/2.
But my god I loved this 16i, was such an original lovely car. Was nippy, not fast but so much fun to drive it didn't feel like it needed anymore power, it really changed my view of them. I didn't really want to sell it, but with 6 toys it couldn't stay unfortunately.
Yours looks really nice, love them in white.

cheers jim ,
red would be myu second favourite colour and i have a bare shell red one in primer that was a press car back in the day.parts are so scarce these days i cant see it being restored anytime soon unless i could find a donor vehicle to rob the bits from .
i agree theiur not fast but the chasis make them feel fast and so surefooted on the teisty stuff.i would never push a cossie into a bend like i would this

PassionFord Post Whore!!
At the risk sounding stupid, do the have the same sort of suspension set up as a S1?
Always liked them, but never really gone into the details of their inner workings as it were.... Always wanted an RS Turbo and after a couple of them, moved to Cosworths, so kind of passed them by...

Loads of power doesn't always translate into driving fun.
Comments here say that.
Cracking motor. I think they've aged really well. And good to know its out being enjoyed and not tucked away somewhere.

The coils and ignition work well if the car isn't left standing g in my experience
The suspension is not the same as an s1, it has a twin anti roll bar and tie rod set up with koni adjustables. As said handles very well for what it is.
