if your only using it a couple of times a year and your grudging spending £40 on an oil change its not worth having . get rid and put the money to better use.

I wouldn't look at it like that. So you can't afford to work on it right now. In 2 years time if that's different and you still love cosworths and only sold yours as your a little skint they maybe right out of your price range and your regret selling it

Sell the wheels for at least £600 and buy a cheap runaround. then it can sit there for years if it has too and one day when u got the cash you can get it how you want. even if its 10 years time.

Id never sell mine now. but would part break it if i needed cash and forget about it for 5 years.

Yeah one idea was to just cover it up in the garage and forget it for a few years, also I never go in the garage for anything these days so wouldn't have to keep looking at it. Then like u say when I'm financially better of in a few years time and little ones older then I can look at doing the work on it. Also that way I can buy bits for it as and when I have the money over the years and when I come to it again I'll have all the parts also when my little girls older and wanting to go and and do things with her friends and not parents anymore I'd be like I wish I still had my Cossie in the garage so I could crack on with it! I know a few people who back in the day had some cool cars but started a family and didn't see them for years, went round to see a few of them and some had got rid of there
Cars and missed them and a few others smiled and just led me to the garage and lo and behold there is there pride and joy sat under a cover waiting for the day to get back on with it

That's my view too. Although I sold my s2 because I didn't have the time for it since having kids and it freed up some cash to buy the misses a runaround and some other bits but part of me wishes I'd kept it. Cossie is going nowhere though. It's been tucked away for a while and it's almost time to get it back out. I know I would regret getting rid.

I don't get so emotionally attached to a car. my preference changes all the time so I wouldn't bother keeping one for years hoping for the day I eventually get around to sorting it. id get rid and get something else that interests me when the times right.

Tricky one, personally I love it in that colour and wouldn't change it, just tidy it up. As you've said you don't have the money to paint and sell on for more and realisticly you'll be at least a couple of grand to get it painted properly. If you need the money then sell it but as already said, I think in a few years they will have shot up in value. I can't really fit another car in my unit or I'd be making you a cheeky offer!

True mate lol I spent half hour in the garage last night going through round the car and thought up a plan. I've still got all the standard parts for it in the garage. What I'm possibly thinking is To do the few bits it needs over the winter like service and few repairs to keep it in trim and I'm just gonna use it for shows and nice day run outs and when I get a house with a decent sized garage then strip it down and restore it over time back to standard looking but with the stage 3 still in place for the extra oomph

do you not think its a little selfish to hang on to it when your so low on cash each month, sell it and treat your daughter, forget seeing cossies driving round in a few years think of your family today! It will be difficult but there are so many decent cars at the moment,
Iv got my mk2 escort estate up for sale at the min as I have no time to finish it but if I sell it when my garage is built I'm thinking of buying a Porsche 996, really don't think I will miss the mk2 when owning one of them, my 2 p

To be fair if I sold it the money wouldn't last 5 minutes and then be left with nothing :-( leaving it sat in the garage costs nothing really, but I can see where your coming from matey

What I mean is a few grand in today's climate won't last 5 minutes and after the money's spent i think I'd be gutted to let it go. I'll make a decision at some point, at least it's sat in a nice leak free dry garage so can sit for as long as it takes to make up my mind lol

Seriously???

I sold mine for €350.... Was perfect except it had holes for rear window winders.

Sold it thinking I'd never use it..... 12months later here I am trying to find cloth for my Saph.

I was thinking of getting a breathable car cover for the Cossie when we move house but after seeing what's happened to my mates s2 rst yesterday I don't think I'll bother. It's been under a fairly expensive car cover for a year and pulled it off and there's surface rust everywhere. He's not impressed so he's clearing out his garage and putting it in there. Defo think U need a dry garage with these cars!
