Default replacing glued door rubbers - what product?

Around the door frames on Mk6 6 Escorts (and I presume other models) is a rain-seal rubber that is glued over the join between roof and door sections.

Is there a special automotive glue/sealant I should use when replacing it - standard contact adhesive doesn't have the sealant factor that Ford originally used?

Search for alpha trim glue. Apply to both surfaces leave to go tacky and fit.
